Culture has changed ✔
Laws have changed ✔
Finally training has, too. ✔
State and local laws require all employers to provide harassment training and workplaces free of discrimination.
Burdened by ‘legal speak’ and awkward ‘hypotheticals,’ most training programs check off all the legal compliance boxes, but fall short of affecting real change. In some cases, these ‘traditional’ training techniques can do more harm than good — causing confusion, alienation, even reinforcing negative stereotypes.
We’re taking a different approach—a more human approach, for today’s workplace.
The four walls of the workplace no longer exist. From team travel, photoshoots, and off-sites...to annual parties and happy hours...to social media and Slack...the lines are blurring and the stakes are rising.
Given new ways of working, unique pressures, and the all-too-familiar headlines, it’s more important than ever to safeguard a company’s most valuable assets: its people, culture, reputation, and ambitions.
We see training as a unique opportunity to engage people, change behavior, and improve cultures.
Our program ensures legal compliance, but is held in a workshop format that’s designed for creative companies and utilizes change management techniques.
Our bespoke program will: provide insights and guidance, address your team’s concerns directly, and establish best practices. We see it as a conversation from which we expect to raise awareness, explore ‘grey’ areas, and underscore the responsibility (yours!) for promoting respect, dignity, and human rights at work.
HIGH EQ
Understanding harassment legally is just the beginning. Real life situations range from uncomfortable and confusing to inappropriate and illegal. And, these are emotional issues. So, we train with honesty, authenticity and compassion.
BESPOKE APPROACH
We invest time to understand the structure, people and unique dynamics of your organization. Then, we tailor content, tone and sensitivities that will resonate with them – training created for your team and your culture.
OPEN FORUM
We provide a platform for anonymous questions and we encourage dialogue. We are transparent about reporting options, the investigation process, and disciplinary actions.
EMPOWERING BYSTANDERS
While training employees and supervisors is critical, it’s peers who drive change. Our bystander training seeks to open minds and instill empathy. We provide ‘scripts’ for new ways to listen, communicate and accept feedback.
CULTURE-BUILDING
“What’s illegal?” is the wrong question. And there’s plenty that is unacceptable that’s not outlined in your policy. “Culture” is collective, repeated, behaviors, good and bad. Our workshop can help re-code those behaviors, based on core beliefs.
CUSTOM CONTENT
Studies show the importance of context for learning, so our ‘hypotheticals’ are based on real incidents and questions from workplaces like yours – not hospitals, casinos or construction sites.
